Six Brisbane Blaze x TAFE students graduate with Certificate III in Sport Coaching

Brisbane Blaze is proud to celebrate the graduation of six students from the Brisbane Blaze x TAFE program, who officially completed their Certificate III in Sport Coaching last week.

This group represents the second cohort to graduate from the program, making a total of 21 students to graduate with a Certificate III in Sports Coaching since the TAFE Queensland and Hockey Queensland partnership began.

Part of the TAFE at Schools Cohort 2 (2025/2026 intakes), the students have worked hard throughout the program to build their knowledge, skills and confidence in sport coaching. Their graduation reflects their dedication to learning and their commitment to future opportunities in the sporting industry.

The program is fully contextualised around the sport of hockey, and the class regularly transitions between the classroom, pitch and gym to create an active and engaging learning environment. Upon completion, students will earn up to 8QCE credit points, contribute to their ATAR, qualify to work or volunteer in assistant coaching roles at hockey clubs or sports organisations and pathway into higher study.

The program continues to provide valuable pathways for young people looking to grow their experience in coaching and sport, while supporting the development of the next generation of leaders in the game.
