HA Award Of Merit Recipient Announced for 2026

Hockey Australia has recognised some of the sport’s most dedicated and influential contributors. The awards celebrate individuals whose exceptional service, leadership and commitment have helped shape hockey in Australia across administration, officiating, coaching, governance, high performance and grassroots development.
Congratulations to our own Karin Walduck, who is a very well deserved recipient of the Award of Merit.
Karin Walduck (QLD)
Karin Walduck has been recognised with the Award of Merit for more than three decades of leadership, governance and volunteer service to hockey.
As President of Hockey Queensland from 2008 to 2016 and long-serving leader of the Brisbane Women’s Hockey Association, Karin has played a pivotal role in growing participation, strengthening governance and advancing opportunities for women’s hockey.
Her contribution to Masters hockey has also been extensive, including delegate roles, championship coordination and contingent leadership at national and international events.
A recipient of numerous honours, including the Medal of the Order of Australia, Karin’s dedication, vision and leadership continue to have a profound impact on hockey communities across Queensland and Australia.
