Ben De Young retires from International Umpiring

Upon returning home from umpiring at the Perth International Festival of Hockey, Ben De Young announced his retirement from International umpiring.

In his time as an International umpire Ben officiated at many major tournaments including: the 2013 and 2014 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, the 2013 Oceania Cup, 2017 Hockey World League Final and the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

When asked about his retirement from International umpiring Ben said:

"I have been fortunate enough to meet and work with a lot of amazing people around the world through out my career. Umpiring is a great way to be involved in the game and you get to make so many good friendships along the way.“

Congratulations on a great International career Ben and thank you for representing Australia on the world stage.
