2024 Australian U21 Championships Wrap Up

Published Fri 22 Mar 2024

The U21 Queensland teams have come away with another two excellent results after a week in Newcastle!

The Women had an undefeated run through the tournament meeting Victoria in the Grand Final. Scores were locked at 1 - 1 with only 2 minutes to go, but a penalty corner from Mihaylia Howell secured the win for the Women!

The Men met Victoria in the Semi-Final where the opposite result of the Women's game was the case with Victoria scoring their winning goal in the 58th minute sending the Queensland Men to the Bronze Medal match.

In the Bronze Medal match, the Men met Tasmania for a redemption match after losing 3 - 1 to the southerners in the first round match of the tournament. Two excellent field goals from Cooper Punch and Callum McCurley-Ault and a great team effort locked the win away.

Congratulations to our teams on a successful tournament, to our Queensland athletes who competed for other states, and to our officials!
