2023 U18 Australian Championships Wrap Up

Queensland have had another a outstanding campaign at the recent U18 Australian Championships, with the Maroon Women coming home with a Gold Medal after an undefeated run and the Maroon Men bringing home a Silver Medal. 

The Women's Gold Team finished in 5th, whilst the Men's Gold Team finished 8th

In the Women's Grand Final, the game went down to the final minute with Jamie-Lee Surha scoring a field goal with less than 30 seconds to go securing Queensland the win 1 - 0 against Victoria. The team only conceded 2 goals over the entirety of the tournament.

In the Men's Grand Final, the Maroon Men came up against Tasmania. It was a hard-fought match, with the home side continuing their undefeated run 5 - 2 and handing the Queensland Men their only loss of the tournament. 

After missing out on Semis with a goal difference of 1, the QLD Women's Gold Team met NSW Blue in the 5th/6th Classification Match. The match ended in a draw, sending the team to shoot-outs where Queensland won 3-0 after 3 excellent goals and some stunning goalie work from Bobbie Hamlet. 

The QLD Gold Men came up against WA Black in the 7th / 8th classification match and left with a close 2 - 0 loss.
