ROLE OVERVIEW

Position: Volunteer Photographer
Reports To: Marketing & Communications Manager
Engagement Type: Event-based / As agreed

ROLE PURPOSE

The Volunteer Photographer plays an important role in showcasing hockey in Queensland. Through dynamic and engaging imagery, this role supports participation growth, community engagement, commercial partnerships and pathway promotion across all levels of the game. Your work helps inspire the next generation to pick up a stick and play hockey.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Capture high-quality images of matches, programs, presentations and community engagement.
• Highlight participation, enjoyment, diversity and inclusion across all age groups.
• Provide a curated selection of edited, high-resolution images within agreed timeframes.
• Supply images in landscape format where possible for marketing versatility.
• Submit images via the nominated HQ platform (e.g. Dropbox / One Drive / Google Drive).
• Represent Hockey Queensland in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
• Adhere to all child safety, safeguarding and venue requirements.

• Inclusion across genders, cultures and abilities

• Safe and positive sporting environments
• Clear venue branding and Queensland identity where possible

We aim to showcase hockey as welcoming, aspirational and proudly Queensland.

IMAGE USAGE

Images captured on behalf of Hockey Queensland may be used across:

• Website and digital platforms
• Social media channels
• Marketing campaigns
• News articles and media releases
• Annual reports
• Commercial and partnership materials

Photographer credit will be provided where appropriate.

CHILD SAFETY & BLUE CARD REQUIREMENTS

Hockey Queensland is committed to providing safe, supportive and inclusive environments for children and young people. Child safety is everyone’s responsibility.

All Volunteer Photographers must:

• Hold a current and valid Queensland Blue Card (or approved exemption)
• Comply with Hockey Australia’s Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy including the following
• Have no unsupervised 1 on 1 contact with a junior.
• Follow directions from event staff regarding photography restrictions
• Not independently publish images taken at HQ events without approval
