2022 Queensland Festival of Indoor

Despite the Australian Indoor Hockey Festival being cancelled for 2022, Hockey Queensland is selecting Queensland Squads at all U13, U15, U18, and Super 6/U21 State Championships held throughout October – December, who will meet in early 2022 to participate in the ‘Queensland Festival of Indoor’, which includes Competitive Indoor Hockey matches, in order to continue the development of our athletes.
Planned competitions are as follows:
Open/U21/U18 Men and Women
· Players selected in squads at State Championships will be divided into 6 men’s and 6 women’s team to compete in an Intra State Competition
· Teams will be a mixture of all age groups
Australian Squad Selection opportunity
· Attending this Intra State Comp will ensure you are seen by the Hockey Australia Coaches and/or Assistant Coaches
· HA are sending Coaches to State Indoor events in January & February to talent identify and select squads for future international competitions as borders open up in 2022
Monday 3rd January afternoon
· Assembly
· Team briefings with State Coaches
· Goalkeeper Clinic
Tuesday 4th – Thursday 6th January
· Matches played in a round robin competition
U15 Boys and Girls
· Players selected in squads at State Championships will be divided into 4 boys and 4 girls teams to compete in an Intra State Competition
Saturday 8th January
· Assembly
· Team briefings with State Coaches
· Goalkeeper Clinic
Sunday 9th – Tuesday 11th January
· matches played in a round robin competition;
U13 Boys and Girls
· Players selected in squads at State Championships will be divided into 3-4 boys and 3-4 girls teams to compete in an Intra State Competition
· As U13 State tournaments are not held until December 2021, confirmation will be made closer to the date.
Wednesday 12th January
· Assembly
· Team briefings with State Coaches
· Goalkeeper Clinic
Thursday 13th – Saturday 15th January
· matches played in a round robin competition each team playing one another twice
