HQ Regional Development Program
Hockey Queensland is excited to announce our pilot program, the HQ Regional Development Program.
Identified athletes across the State will be invited to the Program, which will comprehensively cover a range of hockey topics including:
- Turf Technical & Tactical Development
- Personal Development
- Strength & Conditioning
- Nutrition & Athlete Wellbeing
The introduction of a new Athlete Management System will also connect the athletes, and provide educational and Well Being opportunities frequently.
Hockey Queensland will also tap into the extensive range of previous Australian athletes, and high-level coaches.
Coach education will also be available as part of the Program.
Players will be split into 3 Zones – North, Central and South:
- Zone 1 - Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Atherton, Mt Isa, Bowen, Douglas
- Zone 2 - Rockhampton, Gladstone, Bundaberg, Fraser Coast, Gympie
- Zone 3 - Brisbane, Toowoomba, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Tweed, Warwick, Redlands, Sunshine Coast
Initial athletes inducted into the Program will be the 2023 U18 State Squad members, followed by the 2023 U15 State Squad members.
The program is still in development, and will be regularly reviewed.
