Australia’s most talented under 13 male hockey players have been competing in the Australian National Hockey Championships this week hosted by Hockey QLD and Tweed Border Hockey Association from October 1 - Saturday October 8.

All matches will be hosted be played at the Barrie Smith Fields, Brisbane Street Murwillumbah from 9.30am to 3.30pm each day (NSW time).

After three days of play Queensland are in 4th place on the ladder with one loss on day 1 against WA and wins against ACT and Tasmania.  The Queenslanders are sitting in a great position and are tipped to be one of the teams to watch in the tournament.

The Queensland Under 13 Boys team will be aiming to build on their runners-up finish behind New South Wales at this Championship last year.

Matthew Gildea of the Gold Coast is the local talent in Queensland’s starting line-up.

The Gold Coast’s William Padman has also been selected as a shadow player for the Queensland side.
