QLD UNDER 18 MEN DEFEAT BIGGEST THREAT

— filed under:

QLD 3 Championship leaders QLD defeated second ranked state WA 9-2 yesterday in day 8 of the 2011 Australian Under 18 Men's Championship.

Here is the summary of the match:

"Another slick performance from QLD who showed they are building up to a high performance finish to this tournament.  Each time QLD reached the attacking circle they put a shot away and seemingly never failed to pick up a rebound.  They had a play for every occasion, and overlapping  players to provide even more options.  Impeccable skills had WA in a spin.  WA had speed and some good breakaways, but the agility of the QLD goalkeeper Andrew Butturini denied WA several opportunities. With six goalscorers today, QLD continue to demonstrate great depth in attack.  The win keeps them at the top of the leaderboard."

Congratulations to the QLD team and coaches on your superb performance thus far. QLD will play the ACT today in their last round match. Fingers crossed we can finish the round matches undefeated!
