Kearns heads for Melbourne
Hockey Queensland is sad to say goodbye to one of our favourite umpires, Adam Kearns.
Adam, originally from Brisbane, has ventured down to Melbourne for love. Yes, Adam left 'beautiful one day, perfect the next', all for the love of his beautiful girlfriend.
Adam has been one of Hockey Queensland's successful umpires, achieving such fantastic results as the 2007 Hockey Queensland Umpire of the Year. Adam has also been heavily involved with Umpiring Development at both a Junior and Senior level; providing such great guidance and support to the up and coming umpires of Queensland.
Adam's involvement does not stop there; he travelled to Singapore in late 2007 with the Queensland/Australian Teams as an umpire and also umpired at an International Level at the Oceania Olympic Tournament held in Buderim during September 2007.
Adam has worked tirelessly as a member on the Umpiring Mentor Program, together as a member on the Hockey Queensland High Performance Committee.
Adam's high work ethic and great passion for hockey will surely be missed here in Queensland, however we wish him all the very best in Melbourne and look forward to seeing him out there on the fields umpiring soon.
