The Queensland Blades and Queensland Scorchers have both won their second game against the Northern Territory in Round 3 action of the AHL.
QUEENSLAND BLADES LUCKY TO WIN 3-2 IN OVERTIME
The Queensland Blades were lucky to take away a 3-2 win in overtime this afternoon against the Territory Stingers when they played the second game of round three in Darwin.
The Blades and the Stingers were locked at 2 all at full time, after Queensland midfielder Nathan Eglington scored two field goals during the game.
Troy Elder went on to save the game in overtime with a golden goal from a penalty corner, for the second time in two weeks after scoring a similar goal last week-end against Western Australia.
The Blades suffered a number of injuries in the hard fought, physical game with Liam De Young taken off the field with a broken nose, Nathan Eglington sustaining a calf injury and Dean Butler suffering a thigh injury.
The Queenslanders will need to evaluate the seriousness of the injuries, which could leave the team with a significantly weakened team for the clash against Victoria next week-end.
QUEENSLAND SCORCHERS DEFEAT PEARLS 3-0
The Queensland Scorchers beaten the Paspaley Territory Pearls 3-0 in a hot, humid game this afternoon in Darwin.
Susie Faulkner and Emma Paterson both scored field goals, while Angie Lambert scored a penalty corner to take the game.
