Reluctant to have immediate surgery and ruin his Olympic chances, Eglington received advice from numerous medical professionals in Perth. It was initially hoped the injury would heal naturally however a surgeon has confirmed the injury has not made any progress and ruled Eglington out of acton for at least six months.

It is shattering news for Nathan who was hoping to make his second Olympic team following the gold medal he won in Athens.

The Queensland hockey community's heart goes out to Nathan and wishes him all the best in his recovery. If you would like to send an email of support to Nathan email oampsblades@hockeyqld.com.au
