INDOOR - State Teams Challenge
Under 21 & Under 18 Coach and Manager positions announced on eve of State Team Challenge starting in Rockhampton on Saturday 3 October 2009. More information on Under 14 & Under 16 Team Challenge weekend.

Under 14 & Under 16 Team Challenge the weekend will be held in Rockhampton from 6-8 November 2009. Once team nominations are received the dates and start times can be confirmed. The earlier teams are registered the earlier people can book their flights.
Submit your U14 & U16 Team Entry to Hockey Queensland by Friday 16 October 2009.
All U14 & U16 player names are due by Friday 23 October 2009.
State Team U16 Individual Nominations due by Friday 30 October 2009.
Once we have teams entered and the players thirst for a good strong pre-season competition quenched, then the following teams will be selected at the Under 14 & Under 16 Weekend
- Under 16 Boys Queensland Team
- Under 16 Girls Queensland Team
The Under 16 Invitational will be held in Niagra Park, New South Wales from 5-8 January 2010.
Some teams still haven't sent in their list of names for their teams. Please do so before the end of this weekend.
Positions for the Under 18 and Under 21 State Indoor Teams will be announced on Monday 28 September 2009, with positions for the Under 16's being announced in the next few weeks.
STATE TEAM CHALLENGES
Be sure to have your list of team players names in by close of business this Friday (25 September). If you have not got a team, but would like to play, please contact me asap. Don't forget Under 14 & Under 16 team registrations are due soon too. Well done everyone for getting behind Indoor's "State Championship" event.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION NOTICES FOR INDOOR – State and National Even though Indoor Hockey has barely begun – if at all, there is so much happening already! DATES:
The Under 14 & Under 16 State Team Challenge weekend have been confirmed. Brisbane Indoor have advised they are unable to hold the event, so this too will be held in Rockhampton from 6-8 November 2009. Forms etc will be available on the website from next week for this age group.
TEAM ENTRIES:
We have had a few entries received and I have had a large number of enquires from individuals who have nominated for State Selection, but I don’t have any teams for these people. So check with your coach, team members or parents to see if the forms have all be sent in - could yours be sitting on the pile with “things to be done”? We don’t want people missing out, but we also don’t want people spending money on flights and accommodation if the weekend needs to be cancelled.
QUEENSLAND STATE TEAMS
OFF-FIELD NOMINATIONS:
There have been a couple of positions called for again. These are as follows:
- Under 16 Men’s Manager – no nominations received
- Under 21 Men’s Manager – no nominations received
- Under 16 Women’s Coach – no nominations received
- Under 18 Women’s Selector – not enough nominations received
There was a good response to the original nominations, however they were for the same positions. Please forward to anyone who you think would be interested in the above positions. If you have already nominated and would like to be considered for the above positions, then please let me know. We need another 1 or 2 selectors for the Under 18 Women’s. Nominations will close on Thursday 24 September 2009. The nomination forms are on the website, or contact HQ for a copy. Remember, we can’t send State Teams away without these important positions.

The Under 21 Nationals will be held in Adelaide, South Australia from 6-12 December 2009.
The Under 18 Nationals will be held in Perth, Western Australia from 11-16 January 2010.
Queensland is not sending an Open team, however if players wish to be eligible for Australian Selection, we will release them on request to other states.
