About Gympie & District Hockey Association (GDHA):

Gympie has one sand based artificial field as well as 5 grass fields.  Fixtures are conducted by the Association with Hook In2 Hockey for Under 7’s and competitions ranging from Under 9 to Under 18’s.  In 2005 the Cooloola Heat Men’s team joined the Wide Bay Premier League competition as well as the Maryborough Div 1 competition, and in 2006 the Cooloola Heat Women's team also joined the Maryborough Division 1 competition.

A part-time Development Officer Ian Austin is employed by the association.  Ian works with local schools in teaching and encouraging children to play hockey.  Development programmes for players and umpires are also conducted within the association.

A sign-on day is held in February each year, with the hockey season beginning in March and finals beginning in September.  Social hockey is played all year round on Thursday nights and is available to players from 13 years and above.
